Food and water will be provided. > Comments: We are a small local bookstore in east Tennessee. We held a Mr. K's Con last year, and it was very successful for us. We are planning another one this year, and wanted to make it even better. > Referred by: I have been to the Knoxville Fanboy the past few years and the 501st has been there. The group is very popular at that event and we believe that it would be a great addition to our Mr. K's Con. Thank you.

Welcome. I am the Squad Leader for Knox Eisley Squad. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. admittedly these threads aren't viewed super frequently, if you want you can email me at Mau5trooper@gmail.com or PM me on here. My advice as a former GML as for the antennae, if it is not in the CRL i would leave it off if possible, and then add it on if you want after you are approved, just to be safe. If it's already attached you can try submitting with it on just don't hate on the GML if they bring it up as a revision Best bet is to follow the CRL until approved, better to not risk it, especially if its something that can easily be added on if you want it later.

This is a tentative event post... in that Tanya with Dreams and Wishes is finalizing the details (exact times subject to change based on the AMC Theater and the other parts lining up). We were originally aiming for Sunday (Feb 2nd), but opted out of that since that is the SuperBowl. So now the plan is for Saturday, Feb 1st. I will modify this event as the details get developed. Exact times may change, but the date is more certain. Here is the basic plan so far: Tanya will take him to lunch in the late morning or around Noon, probably in Murfreesboro as the first part of his wish. We would be part of the second part of the wish. He will get to see the ROS movie in Franklin, were we all troop it like we did the premier in December. He hasn't yet seen that one but is a big fan. We would get there and suit up before he arrives, troop for his arrival for about an hour or so before he heads into the movie. Tanya is trying to work in a showing for those of us that troop as well, so not only would you troop for a worthy cause, you might be able to see the movie another time. Later, in February or March, the other part of his wish will be to go to Disney World and Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. At the moment, we are not aware of a limit for trooping, so RL, Mandos, and Droid Builders are all welcomed. Seeing the movie may have a limit, but that is TBD. Lightsabers should be fine, but no blasters to respect the theater policies just like we did for the premier.

Other information from Lucasfilm: Teams cannot direct fan group members to do any activities or be anywhere specific at any specific time - they may provide the groups with a list of activities to self-organize and participate in, but it is at fan group members’ own discretion. We strongly prefer that characters not throw out first pitches, participate in puck drops, sing the National Anthem or things of that nature – if they want, fan group members may escort a child or fan to the mound, etc., but must not be directed to do so. Characters should not hold, wear, sit in or stand on any branded item or logo, especially with a team emblem. The fan groups are welcome to be photographed with others wearing the team logo/brands or in front of signage featuring the team logo/brand, however.

Our library has never done an event like this so we are trying to start planning early. We are a public library that serves many underprivileged people in our community, who might not otherwise have access to the more expensive, fuller conventions due to ticket and travel costs and etc., so this event is to cater to our patrons who love video games, comics, anime, and other pop culture and media. This is all the information that I have for you right now; as we plan more, more things will fall into place! This is a free, multi-fandom community event that is open to all ages and fans of all pop culture media. Referred by: Have heard about the 501st from other convention events, social media, and etc.

That is great advice to go with a grey-ish color instead. I’m just wanting to attain an esthetically realistic look like the armor is battle worn, but not TOO worn, like you you stated. I slso have have a question regarding the HWT backpack. Is the antenna allowed, or no? I’ve read on whitearmor.com where some people say it’s ok, some say it’s not or depends on the local garrison. Just want to know if you think the antenna on the backpack is acceptable? Thanks :-)

Welcome! The HWT can be lightly "scuffed up", but not dirty per se as would a Sand Trooper. The weathering I usually see is a cloudy dark grey or black color as opposed to the brownish dirty/sandy color used for the TD. See the CRL below for the official Legion description (for Level 2 certification) ; https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_hwt I would recommend if you haven't already to check out and register on the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment (FISD) page for more reference and tips; https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/ Again, welcome and good luck!

Hey everyone! My name is Russ Connelly and (obviously) I’m really wanting to join the Midsouth Garrison. I own several Rubies costumes but REALLY wanted to step it up a few notches by getting my first set of Anovos TK armor which I’ll be getting THIS WEEK and then acquire the orange pauldron and pouches and convert it to a Heavy Weapons Trooper costume. I know traditional TK armor is usually shiny and pristine, but I was wondering if HWT armor can be a little “dirty” and still be considered screen accurate? I just love weathered look of sandtrooper armor and was wondering if it’s acceptable to apply that same (lightly) weathered look to a HWT costume? The more I researched about the 501st and all the charitable causes they participate in I knew it was something I really wanted to become a part of. I want to help bring smiles, joy, awe, and wonderment to kids and give them that same everlasting feeling that I had in 1977 that left a 40+ year impact on me. Russ

  22. I am to, I would love to see the armor close up and get ideas. I will check those places out, thank you so much
  23. First place to go is to the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment forums at whitearmor.net. that's the Detachment for the classic Stormtrooper or TK. You will see other people's builds, techniques, and find all the info on reputable makers of everything you will need. Also take a look at the Costume Reference Library on 501st.com, that's the guide you'll be using to build your armor. Keep an eye on the boards here, as it gets nicer outside some of us will be hosting prop parties for building and socializing. Also you are welcome to come to an event and look at the armor up close. I'm in Mt Juliet but spend a lot of time in Hendersonville. Glad we got your access figured out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi, my name is Jonathan Holmes based here in hendersonville. I'm very much wanting to join the 501st and have no idea where to start. I heard about the 501st through friends knowing how much I enjoy star wars and making people laugh and enjoy star wars as much as i do. I would like to create an Original Trilogy Stormtrooper, but have no idea where to start and would very much love and appreciate any help from anyone on how to get things rolling.
