Hi there, sorry I'm just now seeing this but I can do it! It'll change your login name as well, so you'll have to log in with your new name next time.
  2. Hello and Stuff from La Vergne!

Hey! Welcome! We spoke a bit on Facebook. You're looking for a Legacy TK like Jes Gistang, right? I know @Samfranchat has one of those and @galacticat is working on one - we're going to get back to it once the weather warms up a bit. Tagging them so they can help with sourcing of parts. Welcome to the MSG!
  3. First place to go is to the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment forums at whitearmor.net. that's the Detachment for the classic Stormtrooper or TK. You will see other people's builds, techniques, and find all the info on reputable makers of everything you will need. Also take a look at the Costume Reference Library on 501st.com, that's the guide you'll be using to build your armor. Keep an eye on the boards here, as it gets nicer outside some of us will be hosting prop parties for building and socializing. Also you are welcome to come to an event and look at the armor up close. I'm in Mt Juliet but spend a lot of time in Hendersonville. Glad we got your access figured out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have been seeing a lot of people coming around asking "where do I get armor??" - and while we do not exist as merely a purchase point for costumes, it's important to help prospective members not get ripped off by unscrupulous websites. So, here's a little guide. Feel free to add to it, and if a mod could sticky it that would be awesome! So, you want to buy a costume (armor or cloth)? Fantastic! It's an (expensive) but fun hobby that makes a lot of people smile! Stay away from places like: eBay stormtrooper-costume.com jedi-robe.com Star Fortress Productions other websites that claim to sell "501st quality" costumes Instead, check the following: Stormtrooper (TK): http://whitearmor.net Sandtrooper (TD): http://mepd.net Clonetrooper (CT/TC/CC): http://501stclonetroopers.com/forum/ Biker Scout (TB): http://bikerscout.net Sith Lord (Any of the Darths) (SL): http://501stsithlords.com Snowtrooper (TS): http://blizzardforce.com Bounty Hunters (Fetts, etc) (BH): http://thebhg.net Imperial Officers: http://imperialofficer.com There is a more comprehensive list at: http://www.501st.com...php#detachments The people on these forums can be a big help to get you on the right path - use these resources! Also, keep the following in mind: Cheap - High Quality - Fast You can only have two of these! Cheap and fast = low quality Cheap and High Quality = takes longer High Quality and Fast = not cheap Good luck!
  5. Heads up it's Census time. If you're a 501st member and you have never registered on the Legion boards you will need to do that to fill out the census. It is required by each member (you can do it!) Census can be completed at: https://www.501st.com/memberDB/census.php Please note that Dragon Con does not count as an official troop unless you volunteered to work the table or marched in the parade as part of the 501st. If you're seeing this post and not the one in the 501st Only section, that means I haven't heard from you to get your access sorted - shoot me a PM if you're an official member and you're missing access to the rest of the MSG boards.

  8. Howdy from Nashville!

    Yay!!!
  9. Make sure your TKID is in your profile, make a post in this thread and someone will set you up. This is a manual process when approved, it doesn't happen automatically. Sorry if we've missed a few people
  10. Just Approved!

  12. Hey folks! If you're a newly approved member, make sure you do two things: 1: Put your TKID in your profile 2: Message me with your location so I can give you full access to the boards and put you in your correct squad. Thanks!
  13. Submitting photos

Cool. Your squad will be the Mos Eisley Squad if you're near Knoxville, and Mos Nooga Squad if you're near Chattanooga. You can send the pics to me at mxpxrobbie@gmail.com as I'm now 1/2 of the GML team and I will take a look. You will also want to fill out the new member form at http://501st.com/members/join_form.php.

Members of the costuming community are being sought along with the 501st to add that special touch to the event. We highly encourage the 501st to utilize this opportunity for charitable fundraising and the organizers would like to contribute raffle proceeds toward fundraising whether in support of Make-A-Wish or other appropriate charitable entities. The venue offers a very unique environment that is both Cantina-esque and reminiscent of Bespin's industrial design. I've participated in various events and ceremonies with the 501st around the world and count many friends among the organization. Love what the 501st is about. The 501st is family!

It's that time again! I would like to fill this up sooner than later, and also give preference to folks who haven't done this event yet. It's pretty neat! This time we're sharing the event officially with the Rebel Legion (yay!) so each club will have 3 costumed characters per night. We do have permission for extra roaming characters (i.e. not at the backdrop) but these folks won't receive passes to the show. Members who are staying for the show will receive one ticket for themselves, and one for a guest, to be used the same night you troop. I am trying to get comped parking again, stand by for that. If you are trooping as part of the Rebel Legion, please do not sign up here - instead use the RL boards. Thanks!
