Comments: We are planning on having our annual NF Strong walk on Sunday November 6, 2022. We are wanting to extend an invitation for you to join as our special guests. We missed you last year and wanted to give you more notice for this year's event.
I am the head chair of the #NFStrong Walk for the Memphis area. My family and friends put our hearts and souls into this annual event as it grows bigger and bigger every year. I would like to invite you to join us. I was hoping your organization could send a few characters out to visit with our special needs families. Everyone's neurofibromatosis experience is unique.... My daughter Kaitlyn was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis (NF1) when she was a infant and she also was born with other handicaps. Kaitlyn is a seventeen year old fighting neurofibromatosis. One child out of every 2500 is born with NF. Neurofibromatosis is a chromosome disorder that can cause tumors to grow on the nerves throughout the body at anytime. NF is responsible for learning disabilities, seizures, hearing and vision loss, deformed bones,, scoliosis and many more difficulties. Kaitlyn has five lesions on the inside layers of her brain, one lesion on the outside of her skull, one between her brain!
and her skull in the back of her head, one in her hip and one on her lung. In April 2015 she had a 6x9 tumor removed from the back of her head between her skull and scalp. MRIs have shown that the tumor has already grown back. NF has also given her epilepsy, scoliosis and learning delays. The goal of the #NFStrong Walk is to spread neurofibromatosis awareness and raise funds for NF Network Foundation, while also expanding the NF community. This is an event where everyone is welcome and it's okay to be different. We would be honored if you could join the fun at our Annual Memphis #NFStrong Walk on November 6, 2022!
If you have any other questions feel free to contact myself or Ashley Sola with the NF Network. firstname.lastname@example.org
