Welcome Allan. My suggestion would be to come out to some of the events, and introduce yourself. See what we do, see the armor up close, and see if that interests you. Generally, a clone is not the first costume you start with unless you have some good assembly skills. But, that does not mean you can't try that first. Most people opt to go with a Stormtrooper, Sandtrooper, Imperial Officer, or something of similar skill level. Don't worry about trying to hunt down an armor kit right now...we can help you solve that problem down the road.

+1 on what Skip said. He makes some really good points. I have always told folks that the last thing you want to do is spend your hard earned money only to find out this isn't for you. Looking forward to seeing you at an event.

Welcome Reece!

Hey Allen, +1 on what Don said, and hope to see you at an event soon.

Hey Rob, welcome to our crazy neck of the woods, and hope to see you at an event some time.

Welcome Nick. Everyone has given you some really good info. Whitearmor.net is a great resource for trying to figure out what you should purchase. Just don't be to eager to buy something before you do your research. Given your size, the new AM Armor might not be the best way to go. It would require a lot of trimming (more than normal). We have some guys on here that have put that armor together and they always come out of it saying they will never build one again. But, there is no such thing as never building another costume, lol. You might want to look at the ATA armor. It is more screen accurate, and if I remember correctly is ABS, which holds up better for trooping. Regardless of what you pick, there are pros and cons to each kit. Just find one that appeals to what you are looking for, and go with that one. Hope that helps.

Welcome Mike. Look out for some of those Mos Nooga folks....I hear they bite, lol.

Hey Michael. Welcome to the MSG. While I have not put together and AM kit, I have heard they are a real bear to put together. Since you are familiar with whitearmor.net, you might try looking at all of your armor options. I know we used to have an FX contact for armor, but I don't think that is an option anymore. Once again, welcome aboard.

+1. Don makes a great point. If you aren't sure what costume you want to build, the best way to try and figure that out is to see them in person and go from there. Welcome!

Mark, glad to see you found the forum after our emails back and forth. As has already been mentioned, coming out to an event and see the costumes in person is always good. It will give you a feel for what you might want to get in to. See you around and welcome!

We generally get invited every year. It is a little early for them to send us the invite, but I have no doubt those events will take place this year. -
Can't much more to what Ben said other to personally say welcome! The other thing is to watch the events threads and come hang out with us at an event.

Hey Cat, I will get Chris to update your access on the forums. Thanks!
